NESAPH - SAN PEDRO CALUNGSOD
The NESAPh - San Pedro Calungsod Chapter is the Local Chapter of the National Eagle Scouts Association of the Philippines, based in Cebu, Philippines.
SAN PEDRO CALUNGSOD: THE CHAPTER'S NAMESAKE
San Pedro Calungsod was a Filipino Catechist, Student, and Missionary who was born within the territories of the then-Diocese of Cebu. He accompanied Fr. Diego Luis de San Vitores, a Jesuit missionary, to the Marianas Islands. He was a faithful companion and servant, assisting in the ministry of Padre Diego, and also contribute to the betterment of the local communities. He was martyred along with Fr. Diego by Chamorro tribesmen. He is venerated as a Saint in the Roman Catholic Church. His Feast is celebrated every April 2. His biography can be read here.
The Chapter founders chose San Pedro Calungsod as the Chapter's name to serve as an inspiration to the Cebuano youth to fulfill their Duty to God and Duty to Others, truly reflective of the values of a Scout.
HISTORY
The NESAPh - San Pedro Calungsod Chapter was chartered on May 27, 2022. The first Welcoming Rites and Chartering Ceremony was held at the BSP - Capitol Hills Scout Camp.
The Chapter's Charter President is Eagle Scout Daphnee Gen P. Jaralve, TOBS 2018.
